“The Dandelion” Movie Trailer

Problem: A movie studio needs a title sequence that introduces the film to audiences using a look, mood, and content relevant to the story and setting the tone for audiences.

Approach: Create a movie title sequence for the movie that conveys a bit of mystery and foreshadowing to excite and intrigue audience members.

Solution: Created a title sequence for “What Remains.” It is the story of a young girl who lives on a farm and is kidnapped and murdered. Methods used in the project were color correcting and vignetting to achieve a consistent coldness and darkness of the images, which is even further chilled with a darker blue once the girl is no longer living. There are many other images in collages or shown for a split second to create a subliminal message. Every single image has a reason and is part of a detailed story. Subliminal images are also added at times when they are related to what is on screen. Images include search parties, the girl’s POV from slants in an old building, mystery box, references to DNA, corpse-eating bugs, and a hay baler/raker which is a gruesome part of the story.

Art Hive Promotional Documentary

Problem: Create a 3-10 minute promotional documentary for a new creative reuse and art center named Art Hive to introduce and market the company to potential customers in the Staunton area. 

Solution: Created a promotional documentary interviewing the owners of the store and showcasing the products and services the Art Hive offers using their distinct personality and branding. Used graphics and music that fit their fun personality.
